Food Safety Sales Specialist

As part of our growth and to strengthen our team, we are looking for a Food Safety Sales
Specialist.

Here’s what you will be doing:

  • Build a solid understanding of Kersia’s value proposition, customers’ business objectives and applicable government regulations to promote innovative products and customized service model.
  • Develop and coordinate strategies with the sales and marketing department to increase sales growth and retain current customers.
  • Identify new opportunities by prospecting for new business and conducting sales calls.
  • Build profitable sales in an assigned territory through additional sales with current customers and demonstrate commitment to prospecting and new business development.
  • Develop strong relationships and networks to increase industry knowledge, sales growth, and customer satisfaction, notably by participating in industry associations.
  • Understand customers’ processes and procedures and partner with customers to identify and implement unique hygiene solutions that maximize plant efficiency.
  • Provide expertise to customers to improve sanitation, safety, quality, and operations, including assistance with sanitation plans & programs, standard operating procedures, and employee training.
  • Coordinate and provide technical support and consultation services to increase overall value to the customer.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of plant staff.
  • Collaborate with customer service, purchasing, and operations to inform them of account activity and any actions required to optimally service the customer.

 

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in a sales role.
  • Experience in technical, food & beverage processing, or chemical industry sales.
  • Experience with CIP, food safety, plant, or sanitation programs. A strong understanding of the food industry and food processing is also necessary.
  • Degree in Sales & Marketing, a degree in dairy food, agricultural science, chemistry, or biology will be valued.
  • Proven ability to cultivate an extensive network of contacts and develop trusting relationships.
  • Knowledge of CRM platforms and the Office suite.
  • Strong business sense, and understanding of business relationships between manufacturers, distributors, and end-users.
  • Knowledge of direct sales techniques.
  • Excellent listening skills and problem-solving abilities to uncover the needs and motivations and overcome objections to close a sale.
  • Effective negotiating skills that make customers realize the appropriate value for products and services.
  • Ability to manage time and resources to achieve goals.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

 

Candidates must be willing and able to work off hours, possess a valid driver’s license, and maintain a clean driving record. Travel is a key aspect of this position, requiring periodic overnight travel throughout a geographic territory.

We are currently looking for a Business Development Manager to join our Distribution Accounts Division in Ontario.

What you will achieve:

The Business Development Manager is responsible for taking charge initiation and the executionof sales activities related to the achievement of business objectives within a network of major accounts.

More specifically, you will be responsible to:

  • Executes customer retention and sales development activities of the company’s products line and services;
  • Orchestrate the implementation of commercial and marketing activities related to the execution of customers hygiene programs, occasionally mobilizing the various functions of the company;
  • Participate jointly with his superior in the negotiation of hygiene programs and the closing of commercial agreements;
  • Participate in recommendations related to customers programs technical support activities, and their scope of work;
  • Presents business reviews using performance indicators – sales and financial data – and directs the execution of action plans and corrective measures agreed with customers;
  • Organizes customers programs training initiatives with external and internal staff;
  • Performs company representations with selective trade associations and customers events;
  • Orchestrates and monitor business projects related to the achievement of sales objectives with company functions;

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce Marketing, Finance or other related discipline;
  • Minimum of 5+ years of sales experience, preferably in the commercial cleaning and hygiene industry ;
  • Solid network in the food and hospitality sector or in the building service contractor market;
  • Able to implement various tracking tools in completing projects that requires cross-functional involvement;
  • Able to develop and deliver business presentations at corporate level;
  • Demonstrate excellent business communication skills in oral and written English ;
  • Able to adapt to homebased work and\or regional office work environment (TBD);
  • Food hygiene and food safety training certified – level food handlers and managers- Will train if required.
